Erick Lichte on “Star of Wonder”
As you may know, my Christmas song "Star of Wonder" is now available for choirs through Erick Lichte's choral series, a part of the E.C. Schirmer catalog. In this video interview, Erick talks about the song (starting around 5:26) as well as his own very rich journey as director of Chor Leoni, Canada's largest male choir. The first time I heard Chor Leoni's version of "Star of Wonder" I was stopped in my tracks. Working with Erick on the 3 versions (TTB, SSA and Mixed Voices) for this release has been a complete joy.
A New Serenity Prayer
One of my all time favorite collaborations, this prayer was written by Fr. James Martin. He sent me the lyrics and I wrote the tune. We recorded the song and a conversation between us last June on a beautiful afternoon in Central Park. Though we had written a song together, we had never actually met. This little video captures our first meeting. Special thanks to all the people at America Media for putting this together.

The 44th Annual Christmas Caroling at the Washington Square Arch. December 21,2017. Barbara Morillo (to my right from the watcher's perspective) and I have kept this tradition going for 44 years. It began as a flash mob style caroling group, "The Carolling Carollers" but has grown to include Anyone who wants to come and sing together.
